I have ducked into a backroad once before just to be safe. I hate seeing cops on the road because in the three times Ive been stopped, theyve been kind enough to give me tickets. :_dupe: :withstupid:
:lolg: :lolg: :lolg: Ok that is funny coming from the Lone Ranger!
I wouldn't say paranoid..cautious maybe..I usually stay within 7 of the posted...but there are occasions when it is necessary to blow out some carbon. I make sure NOBODY is around and find a very desolate stretch of road, which where I live is quite common actually.
Oh and the track on sundays is funday...great way to wind it out for a 1/4 mile anywayz!
None of our state's high speed pursuit cars patrol my stomping grounds. The crown vic's can only hit about 122 weighted down with equipment and lightbars.
Either way I'm not "afraid" of them. Be nice to them and most will be nice to you. The ones that aren't you see in court a couple months later with a lawyer and prove they were wrong. :yesnod:
I'm making an effort to get the cops in this town to recognize me in my Vette. I respond to alarm calls at our factory after hours. When I showed up in my Mitsu Starion, I was kind of eyed suspiciously. When I showed up on my big Rice Rocket bike, I was treated as almost a nut. I answered an alarm call last night in the Vette, and the cops ended up actually talking to me like a human being. Mind you, I've got hair down to my belt, I was wearing a black biker jacket and a black leather hat. Maybe they aspired to Corvette ownership too, or maybe they just figured that, in spite of my looks, maybe I had to be a good guy if I drove a Vette. You never know when having a cop with a good opinion of you may pay off later.
I satisfy my "need for speed" mostly at Raceway Park but have been known to do a WOT launch comming out of a toll gate on the GSP in NJ.
Though I've always been curious about it, I've never had my '88 up on top speed blast. Maybe when I get new skins on her we'll have to see just where she tops out, but my real passion is the acceleration of the 1/4 mi.
I haven't gotten any tickets in my vette but I don't call it paranoid when you speed I call it staying aware. As always don't do the crime if you don't want to pay the fine. :chevy
