Differences between C4 models? Please help!!!
Okay I am trying to figure out what the differences are between the years of 1990-1996. All I know is that there is a ZR1 which is much faster and I think that in '96 they offered the LT4 which is supposed to be faster then a LT1 but the ZR1 is still the fastest of the C4 models. I hope what I just said made sense. Anyway are there any differences between those years? I am asking because it seems like they are the same which makes me wonder why pay the extra money for a '96 when I could go out and get a '90 or '91 for a much better price.Please help! :)

90 or 91 will have an L98, not an LT1. The optispark was redesigned in 95 (i believe) making it more reliable. There are many other subtle refinements I'm sure as you advance up from say a 92 to 96. 94 introduced dual airbags (bye bye glove compartment). What else you looking for?

Okay so I guess I want a '92 through '96. And you said something about '95 being more reliable? Could you please explain...

Vented optispark. Basically, water doesnt mess with it as bad. They are designed to keep the unit drier, hence expanding its life span.
Here's a few things from the Black Book, on 95 refinements.... improved stictching in seats, hidden velcro to reduce rattles, stronger cd player supports to prevent skipping, and a drip tube in the A pillar weatherstrip to improve water intrusion control (see, told ya there are many minor improvements :D)
Also the 95 had different front fender gills.
btw, if you havent already, pick up the Corvette Black Book. Its full of good info. :cheers:

The ZF trannys were also stronger in the early years ('89-'94...I think were the black tag trannys). The drawback to the '92-'93 LT1s are that they are speed density instead of MAF, which makes them a little more sensitive to mods, such as cams and whatnot.

Don't forget the '90 had the concave tail, and they started with the convex tail in "91. '92 was the beginning of the LT1 small block. I believe in '93, maybe '94, they started with keyless entry.
