I don't have pic's yet, but to answer your ? the cross-member does unbolt from the frame but not untill the a-frames (all 4) are removed and the streering column is detached. I'm doing this to my '84 on friday/saturday, so I may be able to post some pic's after we're done ! ! ! !

I have an Everette Morrison Cobra Replica build manual, and it has detailed instructions for installing the C4 front into a Cobra (basically a standard car type frame).
If I can dig it out tonight, I will scan and post it, if you would like.
As I recall, it was very helpful, gave it to someone else once.
what i really need to know is if the suspension will support the crossmember and engine once it is unbolted from the frame...
if so, it will be fairly easy to graft the c4 front k-member and suspension into my truck chasis...
eventually i hope to be able to have my 68 datsun truck rolling on c4 suspension with a 350 and manual trany...
thanks,
Chris
It would be very cumbersome to deal with that way? The steering linkage and sway bar need to come off. The spindles/a-arms & shocks stradle the frame rails so that would prevent the removal of the x-member. . . . . . . .
