I was planning on getting Corsa exhaust this spring, but was at my local Vette shop and was shown something interesting in the "boneyard" by one of the owner's sons.
Looks like a brand new Borla cat back setup. All nice and shiney still, with none of the hardware (little clamp thingies) rusted yet. Looks like if they acquire a car with aftermarket exhaust they remove it and replace it with stock.
I have to go there again this weekend, I'll see what kinda deal I can get on that set up.
So, I've heard the Corsa already, it sounds great. I've heard the Borla can be pretty harsh and creates a lot of interior noise. Wondering if anyone can shed some light on this one.
I've never had Borla's before, only muffler elims.. the sound was cool but the resonance got annoying. Have had my Corsa's for about a year and love em :yesnod:
Well a good deal is a good deal no matter what the brand (corsa/borla). Between the two Corsas are better if you don't want resonance, and the tips look awesome. Borlas are louder (I've had them) but the resonance vibrated my car to much.
Decisions, decisions, decisions......I cant figure out what I want either!!!! Borla, Corsa, cat-back systems, mufflers, elims....damn! I have been reading all the forums on exhausts trying to come to some conclusion and it is getting very frustrating. I've listened to all the helpful videos, sound offs and they sound good outside and I think i have my mind made up and then people say the resonance is to loud and shoots my pick down. So I start all over again, listening reading etc. Everyone says elims are the best for the dollar but too loud inside. Then people say Borlas are the best sound, then people say they are too loud. So that leaves Corsa, and I havent really heard them either...so i'm clueless......I'd like to hear every exhaust in person and ride in the car to hear it for myself. Can't seee that happening any time soon.....help!!
Bolas are too loud?? What?? I cant hear you?? Just kidding, go with the Borla you wont regret it mine gurgles when i rev it. Even my prissy fiancee loves them and encourages me to rev it. This is the type of girl who only like 5 star restaurants and coach bags. If thats not a seal of approval i dont know what is.

Not too loud...too much resonance for some.....
he, he, this is going to raise some disconfort here, I say if you want loud, get elimns, if you want looks and a wisper get corsa, but if you want both looks and sound AND performance, get B&B triflow, you cant go wrong with a 3" system! If $$$ is a matter the borlas have to cut it. Between borlas and corsa, get borlas.
Resonance will not be an issue with either system on a 6speed.
With an auto tranny the Borla might deliver some resonance.
I am very happy with the sound of the Borla on my 6speed.
If anything, I would like it to be a little louder.
I've had Borla's on the C4 for about the last 10 years. Love them. Next week, I'm putting Borla Stingers on the C5. As far as the C4 sound, sorry but I don't have a clip or I'd set you hear for yourself. In my opinion, there is NO significant resonance (I have an automatic, not 6 speed)...I wouldn't mind if the sound was a bit louder but they sound WAY better than stock...no significant interior noise to speak of...just a nice rumble. Exhaust sound is a very subjective thing, and seems to vary considerably with the particular car/setup, so you've got to make the decision, but personally, I'd buy Borla's again in a heartbeat (wait a minute, I already am! :jester ) :seeya
The borlas were already on my car when I bought it. The tone is very nice, but I was disappointed at the sound level. Too quiet for my taste (the stock mufflers on my '89 are louder). Only get reasonance under load in sixth below 2000 rpm. Have driven a C5 with corsas. No reasonance, but even quieter. If you can get a deal on the borlas, why not try them out. If you don't like them someone on the forum will buy them from you. ;)
