Default Need to Vent!!!

Guys for some reason my Corvette has decided to give me a different problem for the last four weeks. Even though I still love it,..

It all started with the rear y pipe breaking of at the curve on the left. Had to get a new rear y pipe.

Then my speedometer stopped working.. Spent $156 on a new speed sensor but that didn't fix it. Took it to a Corvette place they checked out the gears inside the tranny, the cable the ECU and the dash and everything seemed to be working fine but the speedometer still only works when it wants to...

The I start getting these weird little pushes from the transmission from time to time a cruising speeds, sort of like if someone would slightly hit me from behind and then grab the car. Taking this weekend to a tranny place to get it checked out.

Last night was the straw the almost broke the camels back. My vettes sleeps and eats in the garage. If it has seen rain four times it way to much. Yesterday I left it outside for a while as I cleaned the garage when I decided to put it in I turned on the lights and BAMMMM,,, :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: The passenger side headlight did not go up. Tried a tapping on it and no luck..

What else can go wrong!!!

What else can go wrong???? Don't ask!!!!!!

I have this same problem. I'll go 5 years with nothing more than oil changes and some wax and then a bunch of little things happen at once. At this moment I need, a new stereo (BOSE sounds like crap), a new battery, a new power brake booster (I think), the horn doesn't work, and the passenger side power window is slooooooooow. Ah, the joys of owning a money pit.

Some of the stuff we go through to own America's sport cars, but one blast through the gears its well worth it. Hope you get the bugs worked out and don't let it get to you. Best of luck

Well you do own a 16 year old car. Stuff wears out, I know it sucks but a good vent now and then helps. Hope you don't have anymore problems for a while. :chevy

The tranny pulsation... might be the converter intermittently locking/unlocking which might indicate an impending failure in the converter pump or pump valve.

If you take those problems one at a time, I am sure there is someone on this forum that can help with each of them! :auto:

You're driving a car that goes for $50K today, a minimum of $700 a month on a lease. $8400 a year.

I bet you're not spending anywhere near that much in repairs.

The TC won't usually go in and out of lock by itself... that would be pretty unusual.

I would suspect the TCC Solenoid in the tranny to be bad causing the TC to lock and unlock on it's own.
They are about $17.00

BUT... before I pulled the pan to change it I'd check the adjustment of the brake interuptor switch... always go for the most simple fix in the begining.

Good luck with it.

Feel a bit better, I washed it took the top of and enjoyed a nice drive. The light started working again so I am going to lube the gears this weekend. I am taking it to a tranny place to have it checked on Saturday, I know that the front seal is bad but will hope for the best.

Thanks to everyone as I was about to call it in. I love my vette the way it handles but sometimes it gets to me.

My wife keeps on bothering me saying a vette is for someone who has lots of money that can spend on the car not for a family person. But I know its the other way around. Thanks guys. Maybe getting rid of the wife would solve my vette problems :D

You might want to check the clearance on your passenger side headlight. I've had the same problem when I've fixed/worked on the radiator over flow lines going to the over flow tank. Check there real close.
