Hello group. I am the third owner of a low mile (16K when I got it) 1984 Z51. I am replacing gaskets and seals from the front to the rear in an attempt to keep the vital fluids in their correct place. Thus far, I have done the transmission, intake and TBIs, thermostat and valve covers. In an attempt to keep the vacuum in the intake, I've also replaced the cover plate to main body gasket and the IAC seals. The electrical was a little rough too: starter and alternator both failed a smoke test last month. All this stops at some point, right?
I am looking for a good sorce for tune up information on the Cross-Fire, beyond the shop manual. There has to be a few tricks to getting this motor to run smoothly that I don't know. Any help would be appreciated!
As for some of your tech questions I would definately post these questions on the Forum Tech board also and see what responses you get there too! I am sure somebody here can give you a hand! Again welcome to the Forum and good luck!

You can also go to "Tools" and the "Tech Tips" up above in the toolbar to get alot of useful info on your C4 repairs.. oh yeah... dont forget to wave! :seeya
Welcome to the forum (addiction) :seeya
Souds like you are starting out the right way! For such a low miles vehicle, I would expect the seals to be dryed out.
Oh, and rule of thumb: Never let the magic smoke out of electrical components, it's almost impossible to get it back in and once that smoke is gone, it doesn't work anymore! ;)
