Do those after market chips work??? Ive read good and bad about the HyperTech street runner chips. They might help or they make things worse and ruin gas mileage. Has anyone had a good or bad experience with these plug in chips?? Is the K&N filter any good or are they both a waste of money??
K&N Filters are better in the fact that they do flow more air, are reuseable, and allow you to say you have a K&N Filter. Performance? Well, it's likely to help... but helping is all it does. Don't expect to be faster with just that.
The chips? You got me, I've read good and bad things also. I think that, logically, they should work. I don't see why they don't in some cases.
Yea Ive heard that they might ruin the catalytic converters.
The chip might burn them up. The website or company http://www.superchips
claims a 20hp jump with these plug in chips?? Anybody really know???
I definitely go with the Tostidos chips and Pace picante salsa
Seriously though, the hypertech chip really works! It makes a very noticeable difference in acceleration. You also can never go wrong with the K&N  :D
I opted not to install a chip. If you check the archives, you will probably see a lot of different opinions, but most seem to agree that chip isn't needed for mostly stock Vette. I do use the Cut Lid/K&N filter. More air flow can't hurt.
