Well I was out yesterday evening on my dinner break, and I'm at a light. The light turns green and my transmission feels like it's slipping, and I panic thinking my trans is going. I notice my voltmeter is registering 10 volts, Uh oh my altenators dead. Well I race back home in traffic and second gear to keep the RPM's up cause she looked to be charging slightly. I get back home and back her in the garage and she cut off. Whew just made it I had to push it 1 foot to clear the garage door. Now I just have to find a place that rebuilds altenators, since I don't want to polish another one. :flag
Just in the nick of time ... Better be thanking your gaurdian angel...
Scratch the polish?
I would not choose to polish another one if it can be avoided...But... I would not worry about scatching. Polishing a scratched peice is alot easier than rebiulding the alternator.
I am NO mechanic but I can polish anything. And it is in a sense finely scratching raw aluminum to a honed shine.
