1st , thanks for responding to my tire survey topic, after reading your reply it occurred to me that we ALL might like to know Just how many sets of tires have you been through on your two vettes? :auto: My guess is less than 10 ( barely ) :yesnod:

 

On my '93 automatic bought in December or 2001, I have gone through teh original GSC's, but traded them to my boss for a set of almost new Firehawks.

Then my Michelin Pilot XGT Z4's from my '95 went on the car because I bought the AFS/Dunlop combo for that one.

Currently the '93 has BFG drag radials on teh rear(2nd set) and teh Michelins onthe front. I have a set of skinnies for teh front and a set of fatties for th erear, but they won't go on the car yet.

The '95 I bought in September of '99, it had Michelin Pilot XGT Z4's on it(unknown miles on those tires, but I have since put at least 55,000 miles on the fronts). The rears lasted me until February of 2001 when I ran something over and the left rear tire exploded, being that the tread was nearly gone, I replaced both. That particular set is still in my attic with about 20,000 miles on them and still a little bit of life left in them.

The Dunlops lasted me about 12,000 miles on the rear and the fronts have about 13,000 on them so far.

I now have Michelin Pilot Sports on the rear of the '95, only about 1,000 miles on them so far.

SO let's recap:

1993=3 sets(two used, one new)(oh and two sets of drag radials)
1995=2 sets front,4 sets for rear, also I forgot,I also ran two sets of drag radials on the '95 in 2001

I don't feel like doing all the counting, but not really a lot considering my style of driving.

I should also mention that I have 3 full sets of tires/wheels for my truck and two full sets of wheels/tires for my MOPAR.

I have had my vette for 3 years, and am on the 2nd new set of tires....

oh, thats 70k miles, too. :D

 

33,000 miles, 3rd set of rear tires ... I'll put on the 4th rear set this summer, I can't imagine these drag radials will last terribly long.

 

Damned people!! I've only had 2 sets on my red car and one set on tthe GS....Red car didn't need them, but I wanted the F1's. :D :cheers:

 

If you were to visit my place, you'd think you stoped at a "Discount Tire" store. I can't believe I've acquired so damn many tires.
