Underhood light switch kit from Corvette Central
Has anybody bought the Underhood Light Switch kit from Corvette Central (Part #464075)? I would like to find out if it installs using the current wiring and without any cutting of the original wiring harness. Comments?
As always, TIA,
Jeff

Your 94 should already have a fuse socket over by the front drivers side marker lamp. Just pull the fuse when you don't want the underhood lights on.

Can I get a more detailed description of where this is located? Is it in front of the driver's side wheel up inside the hood area near where the underhood light wiring connects?
Jeff, thats it  it has 2-3 wires coming out of a flat, weatherproof connector. It should be just to the side of the side marker compartment.

Thanks! Would still like to know about the switch kit too though. Anybody?

If the kit is anything like the one in the Mid-Americal catalog, it is simply a plug in and route the wires.
Because the later C4's use a single fuse in a holder that is easy to get to, I would save the $40 or so for the kit and just pull the fuse from the holder when you don't want the hood lights on. It's very easy to do and I put the fuse in the glove box when I pull it out.
On my 92, the fuse holder is directly behind the cornering lamp housing and forward of the round vacuum can. The clip for the fuse holder is on the vacuum can side; just pull the clip back and pull down. Pull the fuse and set the fuse holder back into the housing. I can do this a lot for $40!! :D

You're right, that's the smart way. I'm now told the kit requires you to cut and splice the existing wiring too and that's not good. Thanks!
