Both horns went out on my '84 vette. The GM option is 26 per horn (2 req) and you have to splice into your wiring...It doesn't work with original wires.
Junk yards want 45 per horn for GM original that will fit.
I found "OEM style" replacements on JCwhitney for 11.95 per side. They pretty much plug right into your present wiring.
Just a note for anyone who may be looking at replacing horns!
If you go to http://www.carparts.com (now owned by JCWhitney) you can enter the year, make, and model of your car and search for horn. The '84 used a horn by Mfg: Carrand. Part # 3-0112 for the 500 Hz and 3-0113 for the 420 Hz :flag
Howdy, and a great big THANKS for the tip! I would love to be pure GM with everything on my vette, but I have 3 girls and all are in college with a wedding coming up! Either I cheat once in a while, or no vette! Hey, those aren't my rules. Remember, any man who says he's the boss in his house, will lie about other things too! :lolg:
