Just got two of these units today. I see they need a positive 12 volt source. I see by the 90 schematic that the door lock circuit is not ignition switched, very near by.
I will try to install them this weekend. Looks fairly straight forward. :lolg:
EDIT
Called their tech support and found that these unit will not work on a switched ground setup like the 90-93 vettes use. However, their tech support was pretty good and and they thought that adding two relays would make it work.
So I'm off to the parts store to buy some relays
This Auto-Loc unit will not work on 90-93 vettes! My observations confirmed by their tech support. IT requires the switch to supply positive 12 volts, rather than toggling the ground like 90-93 do.
The only product that works was the MAD product that is no longer offered.
You could use a relay to invert the signal. Use the negative trigger from the module to energize the coil and have the contacts throw the positive required for the windows to do what you want to activate the windows........ :yesnod:
Yes, that is what the tech support guys thought too. Sounded good to me. But the switches have some kind of electronics in them. When you put an ohm meter across the leads, the resistance is not infinite, but something like 2K ohms. I hooked up a relay and enought juice flowed threw to enguage the relay. I was not really interested in taking the switch apart to see it's guts.
They also suggested switching the positive and negative feed wires. But I had already chopped up the harness pretty badly already and did not want to got any further :nono:

YOU are the electronics professor, make us some up :D
I'd buy 2 :yesnod:
If there was a serious interest and deposits to back it, I'd do it. The design of the circuit board is what costs the most.....I really need to get my old board router running again.....lazyness is my excuse....lol. I love to add stuff that isn't supposed to be there, or add stuff that should be there..... :yesnod:
If someone has a 94-96 specific circuit from the service manual, I'd be inclined to buy a switch module and see what it takes to modifiy it. Only one problem, can't sell here on the forum due to not being a "supporting vendor". If someone has a way around this, I'll go full force to figure it out and come up with a very "simple" solution.
Please email the schematic for the 94-96 to chris@kittmaster.com, I have the 93, would need 92 and below also. The more help I get the sooner it may be possible to put into existance.
I did get a module from a late Camaro, the wiring is totally different on the later C4 - the switch toggles the positive 12 V rather than the ground. So either unit would work on these later years (I suppose).
Kitmaster,
There was a unit I got from MAD years ago that did this for the 90-93. I have one installed on the drivers side. MAD does not offer it any more.
This dicussion says that DEI makes a unit called the 530T that is used for car alarms to make the windows go up and down. It mentions that this unit also has a polarity switch. Does this mean that it would work with out negative switch systems?
I checked with a knowlegable alarm installer and he confirmed that it will work with a rest-at pos 12V wiring like we have on the 90-93. He was a little more expensive, (about $20) but is going to send me a bunch of schematics to help me get it properly installed.
Unit was $86 and I should be able to wire it so it will raise the windows when I arm and lower them when I disarm. Might be able to rig it off of one of the seperate channels the Viper has. Car has a Viper 600HF alarm in it. It also has sensitivity selection switches (how much of a tap you have to give on the switch to get it to go).

Well, I have the 96, 91, and 89 Helms Manuals.. I ordered a 94-96 Corvette Auto window module to try on my 91 dash wiring. The 96 and 91 wiring looks identical, so for the 91-93 vettes I think you can use the stock module. As for the 89 older, I am not 100% sure how it would work
Jeff
I received the DEI 530T module today. Looked straight forward, so I thought I would temporarily connect it to the driver's side since that harness was already pretty chopped up.
According to the instructions, I flipped a DIP switch to indicate to the unit it was a 'Type B' system, Positive 12V at rest.
Hooked it up (Temporary) and it worked :hurray: I got both auto down and up.
The unit requires you to fish two 16 guage wires (motor side) and two 18 guage wires (Switch side) from both doors (Four wires per side) to a central location where you mount the unit that controls BOTH windows.
That's what I'll be doing next. Did not want to bother doing all that if it was not going to work
