New Brake pads
Put new pads on the LT4 this morning. I went with the EBC Greenstuff. I have always been a Napa Ceramix fan but they were $149 for the front versus $79 for the EBCs. A lot of folks on the forum had good things to say about these pads.
Took an hour and half.
15 minutes to jack up car, remove wheels, reinstall wheels, let down jack.
15 minutes to put the second set of pads on
1 hour to put the first set of pads on. I did everything wrong that could be done wrong.
1) Tried to install pads without compressing the pistons. :nonod:
2) Removed the pads, compressed the pistons reinstalled the pads. The pads were for the wrong side. :nonod:
3) Removed the pads again, finally installed the correct pads. :yesnod:
4) Finally figured out an easy way to push the pads into the receptacles. I got a small metal bar, placed it on the pad and then tapped the ends to push the pads on.
Took them out and did about 15 to 20 medium to firm stops from 30mph to bed the new pads.
They seem pretty good so far. I will be very interested to watch how these dust.
