reliability of C4 electronics
Everything works in my 85, 99% of the time. My instrument cluster wigs out once in a while, but not often enough for me to go to the expense of replacing it.

Like anything with electronics, they do wear over time. Joints tend to get unsoldered and connections do need to be cleaned.
My '94 vette's (81K miles) electronics have not been as reliable as my '94 chrysler LHS' (145K miles) electronics. My cruise control won't work, the PKE receiver had to be replaced and the electronic climate control head is flaky. Come to think of it, the leather and the carpets look better in the LHS, even though that car is a daily driver and has almost twice the mileage.
I LOVE my vette, but I sure wish that GM had blessed it with better materials and better quality control.

I've had three C4's, two 85's and a 95.
One of the 85's suffered from the blank dash readout problem but this was fixed by installing new bulbs and a general cleaning of the contacts, etc.
The 95 has been perfect.
Like most everything with the C4's, problems were addressed as the generation progressed.

My '95 with 112,000 miles has had no major problems since I've owned it. The original owner had a window switch go bad and the PCM went bad.
My '93 I'm still trying to figure out that car, super low mileage and a lot of things have crapped out, the Bose CD(cassette and radio still work), it kept blowing fuses for the interior lights for some reason, but has now stopped.
The electronic climate control stops working every now and then, mostly in the summer when it's really hot out.

I don't think the electronics in Corvettes are really less reliable than in other GM products. The problem is, there's a lot more electronics in Corvettes.
