Default Question about weatherstripping......

There was a topic a while back posted about a great place to buy weatherstripping. Mine is really bad on the driver's side window to the "rear" part of the glass that runs up laterally towards the roof. that's the only part that's really bad. My question is, is that strip one tiny strip, or is it 1 giant strip that runs all the way across the car that runs under the roof panel? I haven't had a chance to take off the roof yet- i don't even know how since i don't have a service manual or owner's manual. Please help guys..... :(

That is one piece. Try http://www.corvette-rubber.com , http://www.tld.com or ask for Jeff on the forum. I think it is about $200. Good Luck, Guy

:iagree:
It is a one piece weatherstrip. As for removing the roof panel, it is only four bolts. You should have a tool (ratchet and torx) that's used to remove them in the console.

thanks for the replies guys.....as for removing the roof- i see a total of 6 bolts. 2 large torx (i have the wrench) and then 2 smaller ones per side above it i think. Are there any bolts to remove in the front towards the windshield??

Howdy! :) You should have just 4 screws, or bolts if you will. 2 at the rear of the top that are horizontal, they come all the way out on mine, and if you'll look up at the header at the front of the top, there is one hole on each side you slip your ratchet up into. They stay up in there. Then balance yourself when you pull that puppy off! :D

Only 4 bolts to remove the roof. 2 in front, 2 in back. Guy

I got that piece for less than $200 from Jeff, and when you order it, dont forget to get new push-in "tacks" They save you more aggrivation than the dollar or two that they cost.
