I have them on a different car, and they are a good low cost tire. If you are pushing your car to the extreme, you probably wont like them much, however if you are daily driving with some spirited driving, you'll like them a lot. I would definitely purchase them again. I hear the MX is better than the 712's. no experience with the MX though.
I also have the 712's on my 95. I push them pretty hard and have no complaints. They replaced a set of pilot sports (a great tire, but pricey) and can hold there own quite nicely! I will be trying the MX when I finally burn through this set.
They we're on zelement's wheels when I purchased them and honestly, I like them a lot! Good grip in both the wet and dry, quiet...low cost and high performance. You can't ask for much more than that.
I have the 712's on my 86 vert. Love them. Price is right and they are far superior to the gy eagles I had previously. They also make a huge difference (positive) in rain and even a little snow.
Edit - I see you are in MD. I had them shipped by tirerack.com to Hillmuth Auto on 108 in Clarksville. Hillmuth was more than accommodating in receiving the delivery and arranging installation. $400 for the tires, delivered, plus just under $100 for the installation (18 mos ago). Very happy with the experience.
I have them for 1 1/2 years, 13k miles, I think they are great. Got them at at Tire Rack delivered.I think $406.,mounted and balanced at Costco $36.

Re: KUMHO TIRES (Barrier)
I just picked up my wheels and tires from mounting (Kumho ecstas and chrome ZR1s) I have ten miles on them and they still look like new! I'll let you know next year how they did......... :lolg:
Wow, we all have 712s, think they are great, and most are considering the MXs next because of even better performance with a cheap cost. Kumho's really doing it right
