Default CNv Corvette

Check out http://www.ripoffreport.com and type in corvette. Some very interesting allegations there. Especially concerned about the ZR-1 buyer who bought a misrepresented wreck. :nono:

I saw this complaint a couple of years ago. Does anyone out there know the outcome? I'm surprised I didn't see Corvette City of Georgia listed on the site. I was down there once and watched them deliberately give a female customer a hard time (stalling and using all kinds of excuses). She wanted her $2500.00 down payment back because the car they tried to sell her wasn't the one she wanted! I'd like to hear more feedback on dealerships we might need to avoid. :yesnod:

Check out this link: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...5&pagenumber=1

It is about the DMV shutting down Corvette City in NH.
They too have a long term reputation of being crooks.

I guess with the amount they rip buyers off they can afford to fix a car every now and then.

Just have to be VERY careful

I live in Phoenix and the guy that bought that ZR1 was in the club I belong to. Its a very big club and I did not know him. If I am not mistaken the engine was fixed, CNV welded the cracked block before they sold it to him. I do not know how his lawsuit turned out on the fraud charge. They allegedly washed a salvaged title by moving the title from state to state till it came back to AZ clean. CNV was a big sponsor of this club and that all ended very ugly during this case. The moral to this story, be very carefull when you buy a specialty car from a place that can "restore" cars.

John
So the original car was "totalled" because of the engine block crack
I can't believe a dealer would stoop so low !
But then again $$$$ talks loader than morals to some :reddevil

As far as title washing,
Did he say that a carfax was done?
That should have shown it at some point wouldn't it, afterall, that is what they are getting paid to find out. If so, did the buyer at least call Carfax on this under their warranty of accuracy.

Lastly,
You made an interesting point about buying from a "Corvette" dealer. They know these cars inside and out and all the little tricks to screw people. Not only selling unsafe, defective cars but you get to pay a premium to boot ! Not that all dealers do this but the ones that do ruin it for the rest. Guess you are better off finding one on a little used car lot or in the paper.

Yeah, this was posted here last year sometime too. Its a pretty scary read isnt it? Mine might have almost have been as bad as the ZF6 trannie, clutch and dual mass flywheel grenaded about a month after I bought it. $8000 in repairs for a new flywheel, clutch and a GM rebuilt ZF6. Luckily the extended warranty company picked up all but $100 deductible for everything but the clutch and I got the dealer to pay half of that so I ended up only getting stuck with about $400. Its still quite noisy but runs fine and I hear ZF6's are very noisy to beging with.
