Default First drive!

I have owned my 1984 Corvette for 6 months now, and last weekend I finally got to drive it! Wow, what a blast!! Unfortunately, I was driving it to the transmission shop, and my worst fears were confirmed. At some point in this car's history, the transmission was rebuilt with inferior 700-R parts. SO, after already buying the car, now I am having the transmission rebuilt. The price is not too bad, though, and I KNOW I am going to have fun driving it, which is what owning a 'Vette is all about. I'll get the car back this Saturday, and plan to have some fun before I return it to my garage.

Such is the life of a C4 owner...if it isn't one thing it's another.......What do you think will go wrong next???? Really depends on the milage....and how the previous owners took care of the vette....
Any way...Good Luck.....

I'm still holding on to this notion that my vette is worth what I've put into it, but really it's complete bs.

Give up, don't add up the bills. Just kindly open your wallet to feed your vette. Even if you have nothing that needs fixing, you'll be spending it on other cosmetic or performance mods.

Enjoy!

:iagree:

It' a lesson in futility and is down right depressing. I added up the list of mods, repairs, regular maintenance, etc. after the first year of ownership. I won't do that again. Whatever she needs, I'll pay for, and pay for, and pay for.

A Vette is like a yacht. And kind of like a divorce.

Def: YACHT - an object that puts a hole in water that you attempt to fill with money.

Question: Why is divorce so expensive? Answer: Because it's worth it!

Since your A4 is being rebuilt anyway consider having the shop install a TransGo shift kit.

The additional charge should be no more than around $225 and you will then have crisp WOT shifts and a nice chirp on the 1-2 shift.

:iagree: I agree on the shift kit.

Mine's like a girl I used to know... wanted all my attention... all my money... and threatened to kill me every once and a while!!! But it sure is fun when you twist their tail!!!

Hope you get it on the road soon!!!
