Default Considering adding third brake light

I am considering adding the high mount third brake light to my 85. Has anyone here done that? How hard is it to do? I'm also toying with the idea of installing the third brake light like from a vert (in the bumper) instead of the high mount. What is involved in doing that? I've never seen the vert style brake light in Ecklers, or am I not looking in the right section?

If you can get the vert light and wire it correctly, it is pretty easy to conform your bumper to take it. I replaced the bumper cover on my 86 vert with one that came from a coupe. I just traced the outline of the light on the bumper with a ball point pen and cut out the rectangular hole for the light with a high speed orbital jig saw and fine blade. You also have to drill two holes for the mounting bolts. (I measured very carefully to make sure it was centered and level.) The light fixture has a trim plate and mounting hardware so once you have those pieces you are all set. The trim plate means you don't have to be too exact with your cuts. The vert and coupe bumper covers are identical except for the extra holes. You would I guess have to splice into the wire set for the brake lights though. IMO the window light is ugly. If you are concerned about safety, the bumper light is worth a try, but I think the best look is without a third light.
