I love the gas filler because I can go either side of the pumps while others have to wait for their side to be free !!
Also, although the vette is a low car, it's the only car that I don't have to bend my aching back to hold the fuel nozzle while filling - another
This is showing my age, but in the 50's a lot of cars came out with some of the strangest configurations to access the gas tank. Some had chrome trim under the tail light that opened outward like a door ('57 Chevy, I think) and I think the Pontiac had a similar set-up. On my '62 Ford Galaxie, the license plate flips down to expose the gas tank inlet. The Vette is cool, because it's set up like the race track cars, be it Indy or stock cars, where you could use the gravity fed "can" that they have in the pits. The gas station attendants used to have to ask the customer where the tank inlet was at, because there were so many variations. So what's so funny about that? I don't know. I just thought it was interesting. I'm soooooo lonely. :lolg: :lolg:
