I have some tan carpet in back that has faded. Has anyone tried to dye instead of replacing? If so, what kind of dye? Thanks

I used spray-on carpet dye about a year ago for some faded floor mats. I was concerned that it might change the texture of the thick pile of the carpet, but it didn't. The color was a little bit darker than the "color of the cap" but it looked okay. I got it at Autozone, but don't remember the brand.
