Opti-spark failure diagnostics
I will probably go check out 2 vettes this weekend.
94 6-speed 60 000 kms $28 000 CDN OBO
95 6-speed 90 000 kms $25 000 CDN OBO
How can I check if the Opti-spark is running well?
PS If all things are equal in the 2 cars except price, mileage and year, Which one would you choose?

the first tell tale sign is high RPM hesitation.
If the ECU has a stored code 16, thats the other dead give away...
Do you know how to check a code?
jump pins A and B on the ALDL port under the driver side and turn on the ignition.
the SES light will flash <blink> short pause <blink> <blink> thats a code 12, proves you are in the display mode. It will do this 3 times.
Then a code will display. 16 is
<blink> short pause <blink> <blink> <blink> <blink> <blink> <blink> long pause
this will repeat 5 times, total.
then the 12 will display again.
if there is more than one code, then the next code will display, 5 times.
it its only a 16, it will repeat it.

Depending on the options the '94 has, the '95 has a few nice standard options the '94 doesn't. One being J55 (bigger brakes) and the other being the vented opti.
