Help!! I have a 1989 Vette with NO spark plug retainer clips. The wires are cable-tied together!! I have to believe that this is less than optimal! I went to the dealer and they did not have a list of all the clips I need. Looking at the service manual, it looks like I need three 2-wire clips and three 4-wire clips per side. Is this correct? Does someone out there have all the clips on their C4 and could post here? Thanks a lot! (Can you believe how expensive those stupid little clippies are?)
I jsut chagned the wires and plugs on my 84 and all of the clips broke when I was taking them off. I used zip ties and they actually worked really well.
I'm in the same situation you are. I was going to replace plug wires, but the damn clips kept breaking and I wanted to buy replacements before continuing. I looked at vendors like TLD, Zip and Corvette Central and they wanted about $4.00 per clip which is too much for the quality you get. I have seen several members here who have bought separaters from http://www.made4youproducts.com and they look pretty sharp. I don't know how they work with the original loom brackets but it looks like that's what I'll end up doing rather than paying $30-$40 for those flimsy ones that came on the cars.
Mid America (800-500-8388) sells a kit of all the clips for $9.99 Thier part number is 611-164. I bought it a month ago and they fit / work fine. You can also buy the individual clips as well.
I also saw them in the Ecklers catalog, but not sure what the price was.
