anyone here running bfg comp tires? just curious, i can get some 295/35/vr18's for only $250 canadian, about $150 US, just wondering how there perform.
BFG replaced the Comp TA tires with the G-Force line. I am running the G-Force KDWS but if I had to do it again I would go with the KDW (no S)....the KD is a great tire if it never rains where you live (KD means Key Dry....KDW means Key Dry Wet)
I'm running the BFG G-Force KDs (no W, no S) now. Figured I rarely drive the car when there is rain in the air so I went for them. I love them. Tire rack was right when they said they were as close as you can get to a race tire while being a street tire. Not too cheap, though. I got 60% off through a relative at Michelin and they still ran me $1300 Cdn. for the set.
I had Comp TAs when I had 16" wheels. Good tire for the money, stuck reasonably well, rode nice, but the firestone firehawks I replaced them with stuck better. Depends on your driving habits there, I guess.
My expierence with BFG, if its raining leave the car home.
If you're not religous one ride in the rain will make a believer out of you.
Hard compound, makes the tires last a while, but for my money I stay away from them its rains here a lot.
I average 50k with Michelins. BFG's 20k.
