Default Consumer Ratings?

Over on the Tech/Performance site, one of the guys was very pleased with the customer assistance he received from a company he bought a product from. That started me thinking, How about our forum starting a consumer rating on companies we order from or talk to? We could add another entry on the column on the left and title it, "Consumer reports" Here is how it might work: when you buy an item and are very satisfied with it and their customer service (if used) post it on this forum. We could keep a "score card" on the companies we use. And if you get a bad product or lousy service. post it here so the rest of us can use caution. What do you think? :grouphug:

It's a good idea, but won't work for supporting vendors. $$$ is tied into it. :yesnod:

So can I assume that a supporting member is affraid of bad publicity for a bad product? If I'm the CEO, I want to know how my product is received. If it's bad, I would fix it or take it off the market. I know it's the money, but are we going to loose control of our own forum?

I totally agree. But, if the Vendors want to advertise on the forum, then, they should also be able to handle a little critisism, if needed. They could also, read and maybe enhance customer service. We are the ones buying their product.

I've been working on it. The guy building the backend for me has been busy so we have pushed it back some. Not sure how it would rate vendors, but Im sure it can be added to the DB end of things.

Gee, somebody thinks like me  I'd hate to have to advertise a bad product :U It'd be tough looking in the mirror for me.

Hey VetteNoob, How are you doing? Glad you chimed in. So someone is actually working on this? Great! As far as rating the vendors just make a simple scale from 1 to 10 or unsat to outstanding. This would make an excellent brain storming topic. :yesnod:

this sytem you speak of would be quite useful, as it can get tedious searching through posts to find people's satisfaction and experiences with products.
