Modified MAF question...

Modified MAF question...
I just purchased a new Bosch Modified MAF. The screens, and the cooling fins have been removed. Am I going to see a noticeable perfomance gain? Is it safe to use one of these things for in town driving, or are they designed for use strictly on the track? I got such a good deal on it, I couldn't pass it up. I am just not sure what application they are used for. Input/info appreciated. Thanks!

As Chuck said don't expect any large gains from that mod, at least not till she realy starts drawing more air.
It is safe to use so long as you always have the air filter in place. Since the screens are out the K&N is the only thing keeping debris off the delicate sensor wire.
