Default DRM 400 Modification

Okay all I need a little help. I recently purchased a '95 Coupe :hurray: and the back window has "DRM 400" lettering on the side - it also has a rollbar installed so I think it was raced at one time. I am the 3rd owner and the previous owner was oblivious to what this was. I did some checking around and it seems to be the Doug Rippie Motorsports 400 package. Is there any way to find if this mod has been done? :bs I was thinking of putting it on a chassis dyno to find out what kind of horsepower this baby has but do not know what the stock '95 should be putting out. Any advice or knowledge on what the LT1 engine horsepower should be?

Doug doesn't let the stickers go out unless a head/cam package has been done...and I highly doubt someone manufactured a DRM sticker as a poser.

If it is a DRM400...and has a rollbar...I'd say you have a road course car there...probably a fire extinguisher mount somewhere in there too...

I'd get one of the forum members that know a thing or two to look at the car and tell you if it has head/cams and any other DRM goodies like oil coolers and suspension/brakes...

May I ask the mileage and how much you paid?

Doug does run a tight ship, as does Callaway.

Yeah - Hopefully Doug Rippie keeps records of all his cars like Callaway does - If so, contact Rippie for content and validation

I have talked to a couple of people at Doug Rippie but they do not track the VIN #, at least back then. They indicated they needed to know the owners name to find out if the mod was done and being I am the third owner it is impossible for me to get that info. The gentleman I bought it from bought it at a car show from a dealer in Virginia and thinks it came from NJ or NY. Again he did not inquire about the modifications.

I got a great deal on this car  - $16,000 with only 20,000 miles. The previous owner (family friend) could not drive it for a couple years due to bad hips. It had less than 4,000 miles on it when he bought it in 1997. It has been garage kept under a cover since he bought it.

I'm pretty sure Doug doesn't let the stickers go. Probably has had some work done to it.

Just had the 400 package done to my '95. Visibly there is not a lot to see. The throttle body should be bigger than stock with a DRM top plate. You should have shorty headers. And you should definitely notice a loping cam idle. Hope this helps.
