Default 1995 Keyless Entry - Is This Correct???

Does anyone know whether keyless entry was an option or a standard feature on a Standard '95 Coupe. I thought it was standard and bought a car with no keyless entry remote. I ordered one from GM, and then tried to program it. When I couldn't get it set up, the dealer's parts department called GM Tech Support, and they told me (using the VIN #) that the car did not have keyless entry. I just can't believe this in a '95 Corvette. I checked the Edmunds website, and reviewed the list of standard features. It shows keyless entry as standard. They certainly aren't GM, but I just want to be sure someone (other than me) is not lost. Thanks for the replies. email p_rasnick@yahoo.com if you have any info.

I thought it was standard. I have it on my '95, but my '93(the first year to offer it) didn't come with one. Previous owner probably sold it on ebay.

My corvette restoration package for the 1995 model year (that I received from GM) states that all cars were equipped with PKE as standard equipment.

The keyless entry came standard on all corvettes from '93 up. That car would of had to been ordered special not to have it. That is very strange that it does not have it.

It's standard on 95s. You can order the fob from gmpartsdirect.com for 85.20 + 17.04 S&H. Or you could try ebay.

I'm also looking for a remote for mine. I went out and tried the programming sequence just to make sure it hadn't been disabled somehow.

Could it be a fuse pulled or something?

This may be a silly question, but are you sure your battary in the transmitter is good. When I bought my Vette, the dealer gave me a new transmitter, but it did not work, I went and bought a new battery and it worked fine. If that thing has been sitting around for awhile, then you may just have a bad battery in the transmitter.

Thanks for this info! I just ordered one, they're going for around $100 used on ebay.

Just a note to this. I don't know if keyless entry came standard or not. We just spoke with the dealer again and got the part code & checked. This car DID NOT come with keyless entry. That's wild.

Learn something new every day.

Your dealer has to be in error. All the documentation out there says PKE came standard starting in '93 and I have yet to see anything that says otherwise.

According to my service manual, the RPO code AU0 is "Lock Control, Remote Entry (2nd Transmitter)". My '96 came with one transmitter and does NOT have the AU0 code.

I hope that helps.

Everything I've read says it's standard, although I suppose it was possible to order one special without it.
