So this last friday I was driving up to Palm Desert for the weekend after work and a little post work happy hour festivities. While I was cruising on Interstate 15 my phone rang and it was a friend of mine being shipped off to Mississippi to train as a pilot in the Air Force. i wasnt watching my speed or paying a whole lotts attention, (Yeah I know it was stupid) and the next thing I know theres a CHP behind me with his lights and sirens on. he pulls me over and comes up to the car. he tells me he pulled me over for going 90 in a seventy zone and that he saw me talking on the phone. He wasnt going to pull me over but I actually passed him on the road without noticing. I thought I was screwed for sure. Im a 23 year old male drivin a red vette and was talking on the phone. Amazingly enough after all of the yes sirs and it wont happen again sirs, he handed me back my ID and let me go without a ticket!!!! i couldnt believe my luck. Needless to say I didnt talk on my phone anymore or speed the rest of the way. Be safe out there guys!
He was probably just thankful he didn't have to do a High-Speed pursuit after ya!!! :D :D :D :D

Yes ... they take up way too much time, and all that paper work, etc. That starts to creep into Party Time!!! On the weekends .. (I obviously could never be a cop)
Yeah I lucked out BIG TIME!! I couldnt believe my luck. When he handed my card back and told me to be careful as I merged back on the highway I was in total disbelief.
 Most cops outside of the big cities tend to be cool.
Most, dont come to Texas. Got pulled over Friday as well by State trooper. Gave me a fat Ticket for 80 in 65. Nevermind the honda that was passing me in the right lane going well over 90. Who do you think he went for?

Re: Got pulled over by the CHP (rjward)
Yes, you are lucky, but this may help explain his leniency:
Saturday I was coming BACK from Palm Dessert on the I-15. Just south of Temecula I found myself running at 90mph. The interesting thing was....at least 75% of the cars around me were running at the same speed. It was a little weird, as it included Camrys piloted by little old ladies as well as jacked-up F150s on 36" tires. (as RJ said, the limit there is 70)
This is hardly the first time I have experienced this on I-15. I think the CHP sees 85-90mph a LOT on that stretch of road and as long as you aren't doing something totally stupid (cell phone notwithstanding), they aren't hard-line about it.
Still, y'all be safe out there.
The CHP watches for 10 over +. 80mph is the norm.
In Nor Cal the norm for SUV's with the kids in the box is 80+.
Here if your doing the speed limit you'll need a ramp on the back cuz they're going over the top of your car.
On the phone at 80+????????????????????????? What no DVD's?
