The '84 hood has a ram air set up......just cut the front of the cover for the radiator shroud......see the setup on the CrossFire Forum......forgot the URL....
But someone must have it......this mod really works...I mean it....on the '84 anyway....

Re: Viper scoop (nopain1984)
I think it IS functional.
It should decrease your braking distance, which is good.
The louvres on that page look cool  in my opinion. The scoop looks like some prankster glued a surfboard to your hood. Oh wait, it is glued to the hood!
Sorry I do not no how to post web sites? This is a scoop for a c-4, and yes I think it is glued on?Does anyone else have any pics for good looking hoods? Thanks,I'm looking to cool the engine compartment down.Does anyone have those fans mounted by the A-Arms? :chevy

Pardon my ignorance, but why would you want/need fans on the A-Arms? For cooling the brakes? You don't need fans to do this.. only cooling ducts. Air pressure on the nose will force air into there, and low pressure from the aerodynamics will pull the air back out.

Sorry, but I really don't like that scoop, but I DO like the C4R scoop they offer with the two inlets. $250 I think. It does glue...but if you know ho wto work with fiberglass, you could make it permanent.
Sorry for everone's sarcasm.
I agree with you they do look good, but I think they look best on a heavily modded Vette. When a car puts up everone else shuts up!
By the way I'd stay away from C5 West. I've a bunch of times that their product is poorly made. You'll end up with tons of finish work before you paint it.
Keep in mind most of the guys on the Forum are purists. They don't like people messing with the look of the C4.
I say its yours do as you will, if it makes you happy screw the rest!
I've seen that hood on a local red conv. C4 and it looked alright...I dont care much for glue-on hood ornaments BUT the C4R hood looks good if done properly like someone said. I've never dealt with C5west but people around the forum tend to stay away from their products  . Vanacorvette has a hood for $1400 that looks sweet and it has intake vents molded into it. I dont know anything about their quality. Let us know what you decide... :leaving:
The fans don't mount on the a-arms, they mount in the housing just posterior to them(3 per side) and create a cross draft i guess? They look like electronic cooling fans. :chevy
They are 3 electronic colling fans and they mount in the upper fender, which is attached to the hood. you have to cut 3 holes in that piece. They pull the hot air out of the engine compartment.
If you want a cool hood for a C4 get the Toledo Pro Hood. They are not cheap, but they are awesome looking hoods. Here is a pic of it. They make a lower hi rise hood than this one, which I kind of like more. Disregard the rest of the ground effects, I think it is a bit much.
