fuel pump cost?
How much is it going to cost me to get a new fuel pump installed (in the Chicago area)? Don't include the cost of the marriage counseling that yet another car repair is going to require : )

Ron, anywhere from 100-120 or less than 100 for the pump, depending on who you know. You may want to check tech/performance, because I started a thread about replacing the fuel pump on an 85, and I got some great replys. One of which explained how to do it in steps, and it seems rather easy. I'd hate to see you have to pay for something that you could do yourself, and save some marital grief!! You may get jammed by labor costs. :seeya

Replacing a fuelpump is about the simplest repair on a Vette. One hour with a beer break. No exotic tools required. Even for the mechanicaly challanged it is a fun and satisfying job.

The AC Delco pump & pickup screen should run about $95 and installation should be about 1hr of shop time. So I would think the job would run about $180.
