Default Drag radials and drivability?

How much daily drivability is lost with a drag radial? Do you loose conering? Does it ride rougher or more squirley?

Thanks!

When I ran BFG DRs I didn't notice any rougher ride nor cornering loss though they are realy "fun" on wet pavement.

If you happen to hit standing water...foreget about it.

they would be ok for "in town" use, but I wouldnt do too much hiway driving.

I remember seeing a warning somewhere that they are not designed to sustain high speeds for any length of time.

With that said.... the closest track to me is 45 miles away (on interstate).

I pump them to 32psi and run 55-60 mph with no problems.

I only did it once, but I drove 250 miles round trip to the track and back with BFG 275 40 17s on it. I also tried them on the street a few nighte before then. As long as you're careful, and avoid rain, you'll be fine.

According to BFG(and this is mainly to cover their butt). They recommend only driving to and from the track, less than 25 miles one way at the proper pressure(as Phil described above).

Also as Jim said, driving in the rain, forget it, it is not an enjoyable experience.

BFG had to make a new type of drag radial since so many were using them as street tires and having accidents. Now the tire wasn't the cause of the accident, but being that thses cars were wearing these tires, of course the public and teh media (idiots that they are) blamed the tires, much like th ewhole Firestone deal. We all know that drag radials won't be at fault in an accident unless it was snowing or raining at the time. But a car that gets rear ended and has drag radials, how can it be at fault?

So basically if you are a daily driver, you are better off not using the drag radial. Just bite the bullet and do your swap at the track or at home before you leave.
