This summer I would like to fix up the garage, and first thing I would like to do is either paint or tile or carpet the garage floor. What do you guys thing would be the thing to do.
I would steer away from carpet... water, grease, metal shavings, toxic substances- not good.
There are some non-absorbant, rubber-like coatings out there that are designed specifically for garages- I just can't remember what they are or how expensive they'll be. Good luck.
The prices are listed here on the ZR-1 net, which is a vendor for this product. You can click here on the link and it will take you to the store, and then click on the RaceDeck floor:
I did the black and white checker board tile in my last house and really liked it. Turned out very nice and cleans up easily. Any tiles damaged can be replaced easily....and are readily available at Home Depot or Lowe's. Didn't want to drop some serious change on the floor for the race deck or other systems...when I can put those $$$ into another vette! :)
Thanks for all the feedback!
After thinking it all out Ithink i will go with the racedeck. I have a 2 car garage and 4oo square feet to do and it will set me back a bit but i think after i get the racedeck layed on the floor it will be well worth the money!
A nice place to park my 2 roadsters
96 red roadster,auto,black top and interior,6-way power drive and passenger seats,sport seats,bose gold series am/fmw/cass and cd,electronic air,18k miles

Don't paint the floor!!!! Its a waste. My dad painted ours and my heavy foot took it off in the trans am. Now there's burnout marks coming out of our garage :blueangel:
