I finally decided after owning my car for 2 years to break down and buy a spare set of keys. I know the pass key transmitter is expensive but the dealer wanted 42.99 for one ignition key so i ordered one from Ecklers for 25.80 shipped. At least the dealer didnt charge me to measure the resistance of my key!

Our local Chevy dealer just charged us $26 for the ignition key and about $2 for the door key. Sounds like your dealer is a little out of line.
