Default Brake Dust

Hello
I am new to the forum but have been reading many questions and answers over the past couple of months and I must say this site is great. I got my first vette 1 month ago and have noticed a lot of brake dust getting all over the body after every drive(more towards the rear). The pads look new but the previous owner had no idea what material or manufacturer they were. I want to change them to something that makes less dust but still will preform well any suggestions?

Welcome

One option would be ceramic pads......

Hang in there, you'll get plenty of help on this topic.............

Yes I do keep the car very clean. But even after 20 mile rides I can see evidence of brake dust starting to form on the car. I have also heard of EBC brake pads as noted in Tire Track but was wondering if anybody has tried them. Thanks

Then you need to maybe try washing it at 19 mile intervals...

All carbon metallic pads will throw dust. I've heard the EBC Green Stuff pads also throw dust but the dust is a light greyish color that is not as noticeable.

Ceramic pads do not dust but how are they on the rotors, are they hard on
rotors?

I don't know about their propensity to throw dust but the PFC Z-rated pads are claimed to be good (Performance Friction Corporation).

If the pads are new they will spew a lot of dust for awhile until they settle down.
