I have an '89 vette and would like to know a good battery to install. The one in their does not hold a charge for very long. I need a good one to also keep up with a nice sound system that was just installed. If anyone can recommend a good one, please let me know. Thanks!!! :seeya
Die Hard here, also. I would recommend spending an extra $10 for the "gold" series for the added warranty. Check it out, you decide. Just replaced a Die Hard in my PU after 9 years. Not because if failed; it just didn't owe me anymore.
DieHard Gold is a good battery at a reasonable price. If your audio system is going to use a fair amount of current, consider finding the highest rated capacity you can for a Group 75 battery (that's the group size that will fit in the tray. Something in the 850 to 1000 cold cranking amps range.
If you want an AC Delco, the 75-7YR battery has a cca rating close to those numbers. Also consider an upgraded alternator that will provide enough amps to run the load and also keep the battery up.
I think there was a thread awhile back that dealt with an upgrade kit that raised the output capacity of the stock alternator to provide 150+ amps. Check in the Audio Forum or do a search on "alternator" or "battery"
