Good Morning everyone!!! Has anybody seen a C4 with Chrome Hooker Sidepipes or Dynomax Sideliner sidepipes??? I am thinking about getting a set for my 92, and would like to see a picture of them on a corvette before I purchase them. Any pics would be appreciated! Thanks!!!
There are a few guys on here with the Dynomax or maybe Power Effects side pipes....the body colored ones. I'm sure one of them will post some pics.
I have read that to hook them up correctly on the C4 you have to come off the cats and then the pipe makes a U-bend towards the front and then into the side pipe...not exactly great as far as flow  Plus you are left with what to do with the cut outs on the rear of your car.
Be prepared for a few negative replies.....remember the people that post here regularly are Corvette enthusiasts so most frown on customizations....especially wings, ground effects, side pipes etc.
That being said ....it is your car and your money so just take what anyone here says with a grain of salt :jester
Thanks for the Welcome to the forum!!! Just wanted to know if the guys with the sidepipes could also tell me how they sound and if there were any gains or losses in performance with them. Thanks again!
I'm interested in side pipes too. IMHO the side-effects look good on a neutral colored car (black/white/silver) but I'm thinkin' they'd look weird on my purple abomination.
Chrome or matte black would be good. I'm not particularly worried about what the purists think, there's plenty of cars on this forum that aren't exactly concourse 'correct'.
Performance degradation is my biggest concern...that and burnt ankles. :D
Here are a few pics of the side pipes. I love mine. They sound great and are free flowing. I didn't dyno my car before the exhaust was installed but basing on others (stock) I picked up around 10 hp. That's pretty much what they claim too. I now have Hooker long tubes running straight to these (no cats). It really sounds good now.
Will they drag on the ground if you get a flat tire?
And what about speed bumps, and nature's little speed bumps?
I'd hate to get squirrel on my sidepipes if I had them.
No they don't drag. You really only lose about a 1/2 inch or less of clearance. I know it looks like more but the pipes fit pon the side of the car where the rocker panels used to be. Not underneath. It almost takes someone to see them upclose to really visualize it.
And let me add...they sound sooo good! Those pipes at WOT just outside your window. It's very nice.

Enjoy.

got any more pics far away from the car thanks!"
I did the install myself. I paid around $1300 dollars for the system which took me a weekend to install. It really wasn't to bad to do. The hardest part was getting it centered from side to side. Here are some more pics including the rear fillers which patch up the LT1 exhaust cuttouts in the rear.
