When I am cruising down the road at any speed I hear a constant clunk coming from the front driver side wheel/tire. What could it be? Shock? Brake? I have no idea. The car also kind of stumbles through the RPM range when I give it some gas. Any suggestions?
TIA,
brad
Attending to the clunk..... My first check would be the shock mounts.... See if the rubber is still there. I had this and the shock mounts had no more bushing..... Simple fix.....
If its not that going to have to go down the line fo things. A U-joint will clunk while bad.... but usually only when initially talking off or slow manuevers.....
Could be that your in need of new shocks.... Going to have to check it out
With the stumbling part... Have you done a tune-up ately. Always look for the easiest answer, because it usually is. Check the plugs wire cap rotor (unless you have the LT1..... then you might have to worry about the optispark could be giving you some problem.
Start there and see where it leads you..... Good luck

:iagree: But will also add that bad/worn sway bar bushings can cause misalignment of the link assy and create a load on either the bar or the front control arm. As the strain loads and unloads, it will create a clunk
I had a clunk on mine too, only it was coming from the back. I removed the spare tire housing tonight, and away it went. May have been lose, not seated properly, I'm not sure... Took care of my clunk though!!
