HAS ANYBODY HAD EXPERIENCE WITH DRIVER'S SIDE ELECTRIC WINDOW THAT WON'T GO UP. IT STARTED OUT AS INTERMITANT AND NOW IT WON'T GO UP AT ALL. I HAVE HAD THE SWITCH OUT TO CHECK OUT. ALL SEEMS WELL THERE. ANY THOUGHTS? IS THIS SOMETHING THAT I SHOULD JUST COME TO EXPECT WTH A '94 COUPE? ANY THOUGHTS WILL BE APPRECIATED.
First off, locate the "Caps Lock" key and turn it off...
Secondly, you said that the switch checks out ok, does that mean it is getting power? If so, then it is probably the motor that is going, or has went, bad.
Does it make any noise at all? Does it move at all?
Motors can be purchased for around $75.00 new and installation takes most of an afternoon. Hope this helps!
i had the same problem as you. my 94 passenger window would go down with the pass. switch, but not go up. the driver side pass. window switch did allow the window to go up!.....problem was in the switch in the pass. door for me. i removed the switch and carefull took it apart the inner unit where the actual electronic contacts are. be very carefull not to break off the small plastic tabs, if you do your done! and will have to buy a new switch. once you get it off i am farily certain you will see a large amount of carbon build up on the contacts. i scraped mine with a small screwdriver and then rubbed it with a q tip. put it back together and it works great. hope this helps
Try This Diagnosis: Hold the switch on and slam the door closed . If the window moves, it is your motor. The motor brushes have been known to stick and the slam shakes it loose. This happened to my 94 driver's window and I had my motor replaced with no more problem.
