i have a 96 lt1 and i want to add refrigerant (r-134a) to the system. my repair manual says to hook up the recharge to the low side only. when i look under the hood i notice there is a connect valve on the passenger side of the hose coming from the refrigerant canister. i do not see any valve on the drivers side from the canister to the air conditioner pump. am i right in saying that the valve on the passenger side is the low side?????
any help you can give me will be appreciated.

And also please make sure you put "gas" in and not liquid. The last thing you want to do is "slug" that compressor, as liquid doesn't compress too well.
Don't try to hurry the recharge process by "tipping" the can upside down. (You may already know that, but just in case you don't.....)
Re: Adding refrigerant, low side - high side ????? (mr96)
It might even be COLOR-CODED for additional safety. When I purchased the retro-fit kit for my '92 the high pressure and low (suction) side had blue and red caps so I would know the diference.
A guage is better than the sight glass (I'm not even sure if GM A/C's have one.
