I ordered a set of sylvania silver star head lights for my vette, just received them today. I put them on. Man, they seemed really bright compared to the old ones. I should be able to tell how bright when the sun goes down.
Just in time for the caravan.
I saw a news show a while back that they were trying to make those lights against the law because they were so bright. Haven't seen a followup on the article.
O.K. guess I've been asleep, where did you order them from?
you can get them from virtually any auto parts store.
Although they are a little brighter, they are NOT the aftermarket stuff that blinds you.
Actually, I couldn't find them anywhere in North Dallas. I must been to 10 auto parts stores. none of them carry them. That's why I ended up ordering them on line.

Re: Installed new headlight (vette_dreamer)
Best choice for the $$$. Had mine for about 5 months now. Still as awesome as the day I put em in. They shine up to 4000 Kelvins. I never had to put on my brights since installation. Pure white light. In short....they RULE especially in black vettes. And those fools better not pass a law against em or I'm gonna have to open another can. :mad
Cool blues are not nearly as "crisp" as Siverstars. I don't know how Sylvania did it, but from a distance, Silverstars look remarkably like HID's.
Comparing the light output between Cool Blues and Silverstars is like comparing apples and oranges, hence the big $$ difference.
I got my Silverstars at Auto Zone, and paid $48 + tax for the pair, and got a $5 mail in rebate for each headlight to boot!
I'm now running them in every vehicle we own, including the trucks.
