Default Seat Question

Okay, I know I am missing something simple. I want to replace the bladders in my 85s Sport Seats. I can get the bottem cushion off real easy, how does one remove the back of the seat to get to the bladders?

I am not sure about your 85, but I am sure about how to do it on a 89 coupe. There are four steel projections on the back seat cushion that fit into some clips mounted on the seat backs. Two of these are on one side and two on the other. The upper clips are about 75% up from the bottom and are close to the side of the removable cushion. The bottom clips are at the bottom of the cushion. You can feel these clips by sliding you fingers behind the back cushion. To release the cushion, push one side of the cushion towards the center of the seat and it will release that clip. Do the same on the bottom and she is out! If you need some pictures, just send me an email! Its easy once you do it. Sorry to use so many words!

On my '88 I had to cut out some of the hog rings and lift the lower half of my seat back up to access the bladder.

There is also a wire retainer under the seat back that must be released but you do not need to mess with the wire retainer behind the headrest.

Pay close attention to where the hog rings are now and how they are attached as it will save you some "fun" on reassembly.
