Re: Weather stripping (86shark)
I went to Gordon's class for C4 owners at Bloomington. He says that the 95/96 wetherstrip will fit all C4s and is of superior design. Buy it direct from GM and you will not have the problems associated with vendor rubber or from the 84-94 design. I would assume that GM also sells its own adhesive. :)
I thought I read somewhere that you do not use adhesive in the rear. The yellow goop from the factory is grease????? I just used the grease from the old one when I replced mine.

You did RIGHT. if you glue down the rear hatch weatherstrip, you'll only accelerate the shearing effect on it that opening and closing the hatch as well as driving brings.
If you're just trying to buy some more time from your already deteriorated weatherstrip like I did, gluing down the ends won't hurt anything.
If you're thinking about putting new weatherstrip on your C-4, check out my web site--photos and how-to info. I just installed the 5-piece kit, Here's the link: http://viawebdevelopment.com/ctoc/frontws.htm I got the weatherstrip kit for $410!!! Visit my site for seller contact info.
