Default 4+3 swap

just a thought, can I swap a 5 or 6 speed for my 4+3, is there a 6 speed that would bolt up to the torque beam? Thanks Greg

In my brief studies.... there's three trannies to be considered.

T56, ZF6, and Richmond6, here's my uneducated summary.

The T56 is supposedly a PITA requiring extensive fabrication.

The ZF6 is best done if you have lots of donor car parts such as bellhousing, fiberglass tunnel, driveshaft, and hydraulics. Used ones are affordable, but rebuild parts are hard to get and expensive.

The Richmond6 can be purchased as a "bolt on" (requiring some finessing) but is very $$$$.

Ecklers also has a Richmond 4+1 available for 2 grand.
