Default OIL TEMP DIFFERENCE !

Digital reads 212 but analog shows approx. 120. I think that I trust the digital. Does any one else have a the same problem with their C-4 ?

My analog gauges have been screwed up since I bought my car...I only check the digitals...your analog is obviously incorrect....let me add that I do check the oil pressure via analog...no choice... good luck

Mine does the same thing. I replaced the sending unit but that didn't help. So I just live with it.

On my 94 coupe around town it shows mostly 200-208. I put in a 160 thermostat and all my temp's came down a little, even on a long trip the Oil temp stayed around 205 or lower. It is really hot down here most of the year.

Before I go any further, the following applies to LT1 cars(possibly the 90-91 also due to having the same dash layout).

First off everyone. How do you know your analog gauge reads 120? The markings on the analog gauge are as follows:

1st mark(from left) is 100, the 2nd mark is 215, the 3rd mark is 250, the 4th is 285 and the 5th mark is 320.

So the range between the 1st and 2nd mark is too broad for you to guess a temp of 120. I only use the analog guage to see if I'm running real hot, if the needle approaches the shaded area, I will check the digital readout(which I normally leave it set on anyway). SO my guess is that there isn't anything wrong with the gauge or sender.
