85 Dash compatability

85 Dash compatability
Would I be able to put a dash cluster from a 89 (part # 25088848) into my 85? I know there are a couple of lights that are on the 89 that I don't have, but I figure other than that they should be interchangeable.
Anyone know?

I have an 85 and an 87. The digital dash housings have a slightly different fit and I cannot swap them. I would immagine the 89 is more similar to the 87. If you are so inclined, the glass can be interchanged and will function(there are differences, but they will function).
I only tried it once, and this is with my two cars, so I'm no expert. But, I hope this is helpful.

Ive done quite a bit of glass replacement and resoldering in these things. At this point, I don't even know if I have the right glass in each of them for thier years. They seem to work just fine. I think the 84 tach is the most noticable difference in glass layout, but I think it even functions in any of them.
If you need advice on glass changing, there's a couple of sites out there. Just be VERY carefull! They are VERY VERY fragile. And, when you are done, if you have an extra tach glass, I'll buy it from you :D
