Glass top
Hi guys, I just bought a '96 CE LT-1 and I was thinking about buying a replacement glass top for it because the one I have has a small crack in it. Do these cracks spread very easily because of the twisting of the car, if so how much life would you think this top had left in it? Also, i saw that you could purchase a new glass top for $1200+, but was told there were better replacement options. What are these other options? Thanks guys.

Rabid Seal: Here is my suggestion after living in Houston : I have the plexiglass top and have many small 1/8" cracks (crazing) in my 94 bronze top. With the high heat conditions here, cabin temps are high and the AC can't cool it down efficiently. So I opted for a used second top (solid) that I use during the summer. ( here, that is 6 months as you know). My interior temps are much better with the AC doing its job. I use the plexiglass top from late October to early May. So in my opinion , you might consider the solid top option if you are going to by a second top. The 90-96 C4's use the same top. A good used one goes for about $300 plus $75-$100 t0 repaint it your color if needed. It was one of my best upgrades to my 94. I found my top at a Corvette show but there are many used ones around on the internet and corvette parts dealers. Look for ones with replaced weather stripings/headliners.
