The trans fluid temp digital readout (the only readout) came in 95. The funny thing is, if you look in the 94 shop manual, one of the many functions of the CCM (central control module) is the transmission fluid temperature, as well as the other readouts that ARE there, like oil temp, coolant temp, and volts. I guess they were just getting ready for the next year. Kinda like how my 94 LT1 intake had a bolt/plug in the intake, below the throttle body, where the 95 has the optispark vacuum hose run to.
The 4L60-E has a speed sensor connection and a large electrical connector for everything else. All of the sensors are internal (from what I understand). My 4L60-E is sitting on the garage floor right now, I don't know if there is an easy way to access internal components.
Speed, the 92 didn't come with one. I'm installing a new larger capacity pan like this one and I'm adding a trans temp gauge on a pillar pod. :steering:
Sorry man, never tried that before. I imagine if it has internal clearance from moving parts, and external protection from strikes and heat, it should work fine. Just make sure there isn't a single shaving in that pan when you put is back on, or else......clunk..cu..clunk "dad gome sonofa!" But then again I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know.
Hey Ransome if I can ever get a chnce to get my car in teh air, I can show you where mine is. Basically it's right next to the pan, I just forget if it's in the inlet or outlet.
