2 C4s no wave
Two C4s at a 4-way intersection-1-Red with grey interior-89-90- Driver-Female-Long blonde hair and glasses 1-91 white with blue targa top-Driver
Mid 30s-male. Male driver passes female driver close enough to shake hands.
Neither one looks at the other-I'm standing there watching this,thinking my God whats wrong with this picture. Never forget to wave-never-ever

I think a lot of people don't know about the wave. I didn't until I joined the forum...now before I knew about it, if someone else that was in a 'Vette waved I would wave back, but I just figured they liked my car or had seen me at a show etc. instead of the waving being something that they did to everyone they saw in a 'Vette.

I find it's mostly C-5's that don't wave. But some C-4's don't either. My guess is the non wavers are oblivious to the Corvette family. :rolleyes

I was thinking of taping a glove to my steering wheel so I would never be accused of not waving but then I was afraid people might think I was that guy in the "Who Wears Driving Gloves" post...

Try living in Miami, FL I think I am the only one that waves in this city
It is usually the C-5's that don't wave. Some drivers are oblivious, some are possing, looking kewl and have no time to wave at you. :lol:
I knew about the wave before the forum and before owning a corvette.
In the 70's - 80's while growing up in Ft. Liquordale, I had a 68 Firebird, and anyone who had a sports/muscle car waved at each other in acknowledgement of each others ride.
Just keep waving,,,like I do,,,,they will come around.

It's sad, but the no-wavers are missing out on a major appeal of the Corvette; comaraderie with others who like the car.

I don't wave at women drivers.....period. Don't want to stroke thier fragile egos by making them think I "want" them when infact I would just be acknowledging the Vette and could care less about sleeping with them. (I know, I got issues) Maybe the 30-something dude is of the same mindset?

drive C5's in my area and we've passed each other enough to
wave now.
But the VERY first time I had the hand ready, and didn't know if
I should. She was on the phone(go figure :rolleyes: ) and she
DID in fact wave.
I've always understood the wave, not just for Corvettes, but for
other autos and things. Biker's alliance, 4X4, etc.

I think I got the ultimate snub from a C5 Z06-er this morning. From everything I have read in this forum, I decided to see if he would initiate a wave. I’m fillin’ up, and this guy comes screaming into the gas station and parks in the spot right in from of the door, right in front of me. I watch him get out…he looks at me and my car and does nothing, as he walks out I give him the lil “how ya doin” head nod. NOTHING. Then be backs out…still looking at me…then circles around the pumps…STILL looking at me and does nothing, even as I am obviously STARING at him. So after he is gone, an older gentleman who must have seen the whole thing says to me, “Aren’t you Vette guys supposed to wave at each other?” His vehicle of choice was an OLD Toyota Corolla. So every C5-er who claims ignorance has NO argument in my book….However, I still wave at every vette I see on the road. :seeya

As this summer moves along, attempting to warm it up a little bit around here in the upper mid-west, I've noticed more happy vette'ers returning my wave :seeya
Lately, C5'ers have been giving me the <parking lights flash> too! Now, I can bearly keep her straight with all this waving and flashing. What'll I have to do next? wiggle my toes at em?? :D
