Today on "Car Talk" a PBS radio call-in show with the Tappet Brothers; a caller asked if putting a keyless remote entry fob up to your chin and pressing the buttons with your mouth open would actually increase the range of the remote.
They said yes, but they didn't know why it worked. I couldn't tell if they were joking or not.
Now I’ve heard this works from a friend but he’s such a practical joker :jester I didn’t try it.
The image of walking through a parking lot with the remote against my chin and my mouth open sounded too ridiculous to try with him watching.
:lolg: :bb
So, I’m wondering if anyone knows if this works and if it does why.

Re: Remote Keyless - Tip or Trick? (torqueman2002)
I think they were talking about a car starter.
I live in Montreal and it gets dam cold here so the quicker you could get the car started the better it is.
I have been using this trick on my winter cars for years and it really does increase the range by atleast 30%.
I never tried it with my keyless entry on my vette but I guess it would also work.
Trust me it works.
I don't know why maybe somebody could give us the reason.
My guess is that your jaw acts like an antena.
I also heard that standing on one foot facing 4 degrees South East, at high noon on every odd numbered Tuesday, with a clear glass half full of water in your left hand that YOUR remote will unlock MY car. :D
